Lauderdale County Tax Collector Doris Spidle is announcing notice of upcoming land sale and important dates. Pursuant to the laws of the state of Mississippi, Spidle will conduct the land sale online beginning, August 31, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
Ahead of the sale, Lauderdale County residents are encouraged to review the list of important dates:
•July 24, 2026 – Last day to pay land taxes with a personal check.
•July 30, 2026 – Last day to pay land taxes online before name is printed in “The Meridian Star.”
•July 31, 2026 – Last day to pay land taxes in office before name is printed in “The Meridian Star.”
•August 5, 2026 – Names with unpaid taxes will appear in “The Meridian Star.”
•August 12, 2026 – Names with unpaid taxes will appear in “The Meridian Star.”
•August 28, 2026 – Absolute last day to pay taxes in office with credit card or cash before land sale.
How to sign up to be a bidder for land sale
•August 1, 2026 – First day to register to bid online at www.govease.com.
•August 1, 2026 – Registration training is available at www.govease.com/bidderhelp.
•August 28, 2026 – Absolute last day to sign up for land sale at www.govease.com.
•August 31, 2026 – GovEase online tax sale begins at 8:30 am and continuing until all sold.
