Permit Office moves to old county courthouse

Lauderdale County residents needing to visit the Permit Office will need to head downtown as the office has relocated to the old county annex at 410 Constitution Avenue.

The Permit Office assists residents with flood zone maps, building permits and enforces the county’s Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. Residents are required to get permits for new buildings, additions, relocations or alterations to existing structures.

The county’s adherence to the flood damage ordinance makes county homeowners eligible to purchase flood insurance for their property. Current and future homeowners are welcome to visit the Permit Office to see if their property or potential property is located in a flood zone.

Permits can be purchased online at lauderdale.permitme.io/login.
