In cases of homicide,
suicide, trauma, accident or other disaster, death by violence, by cause
unknown or suspicious, in police custody or as a result of public health
hazard, in surgical or anesthetic procedure, or unattended, the County
calls in Coroner/Medical Examiner Clayton Cobler, III. His reports
include information on the means of death, if death is other than
natural, as well as a narrative summary of the circumstances. Reports of
investigations are routinely completed for the
State Medical Examiner, as well.
